Suicide rates high among gays in both 'anally closeted' Pakistan & US

Image
A psychiatrist friend from Karachi, Pakistan, informs me there is high suicide rate among gays in Pakistan, one of the nine countries in the world where a gay person can be sentenced to death though suicide rates are high in the US too. I too suffered from major depression because of my sexual orientation. My Karachi gay psychiatrist, who proudly says “No, I never tasted a pussy” preferred to remain anonymous as he says Pakistan is “anally closeted.” He said depression and suicide cases are high among Pakistan gays and that two of his gay clients ended up committing suicide. He regrets that there are no studies about gay depression or suicides in Pakistan.  He said most gay people in his South Asian country are married and living a dual, secret life, adding that millions of Pakistan men enjoy anal sex but are never willing to admit that in public. “In Pakistan most men are either bisexual or gay, and married. Only a few, who get in the trap of marriage, end up being divorce

Be true, be you even in a hall full of people

I did it. My dream to tell the world who I was, without fear. As I wanted to share my thoughts where two highly reputed gentlemen scholars spoke about Afghanistan and what Pakistan was doing there, the moderator said she had ran out of time. But one of the gentleman, former US ambassador to the United Nations Zalmay Khalilzad said "he is the prime minister of Balochistan. We are honored to have him here." So I got the mic to ask the question. But no sooner than I stood up to speak, a guy who many suspect is an agent of the ISI, began calling me an Indian agent. I wished he was right though as agents get paid and I have been working without any support on my homeland Balochistan for more than 11 years without any reliable support. At that point I did what I could not imagine doing 17 years ago when I was in Pakistan, which I call 'Cluster Fuckistan.' "I am a very openly gay American. Your country may have a problem with that," i told the ISI gu

Thank you America, for giving me my personal freedoms, even though there are many who want to snatch it back. I feel sometimes so lost driving in the United States as really I don't have many relatives here. You come to know the streets where you grew up because of memories you have of events that may have taken place on particular spots. Where you had a fight trying to act macho but realized you were no match for you nemesis, or maybe romance with a girlfriend even if it was a deceptive role playing as in the heart of your heart you loved the cute boy next door. Or, pardon my French, perhaps where you got your rear rubbed or got laid. A newcomer to the US does feel lost as he lacks these vital connections. But then at the gay Mecca in Dupont Circle, all my fears and loathing melt away immediately. I feel like a fish in water. Or maybe in Castro in San Francisco that i used to love and visit a lost when I lived in the bay area. In fact, many years ago I ended up living in C

Muslim men engage in gay play in the valleys of death

Nine Muslims countries to this day may punish a gay or bisexual person to death: Sudan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE. But this does not mean, gays wont play: among the Muslim countries, the United Arab Emirates is perhaps the gayest nation as per the gay dating site AdamForAdam . There are 1,149 gays looking for mating in that rich Gulf nation in spite of the death sentence. Though not called as such, there are quite a few gay bars in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman and other cities where men invite other men to their homes for obvious reasons. UAE is in fact one of the most pluralistic Arab nations where people from different background can live freely.  Perhaps, Saudi Arabia is one of the toughest places for gays.  Police in   Saudi Arabia   have arrested several men who appeared in a "gay wedding scene". "A video circulated widely online shows two men walking side by side as they are showered in confetti," The In

First openly gay guy from Balochistan; I love the US, but not the American Taliban

My ancestral homeland in southwest Asia, Balochistan –land of the Baloch--, also has the dubious distinction of being the land of the Islamic Bomb. It was there, in southwestern Pakistan, that a nuclear device was tested in May 1998. Most Americans may not have heard the name, Balochistan, a France-sized territory that the British colonialists left divided among Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Though extremely rich in resources and having a sexy strategic location as the northern lip of the Straits of Hormuz, the majority of its inhabitants belong to 200-plus Baloch tribes who eke out a living herding goats. Some are still nomads, wandering the region's huge expanses with their camels. I come from the Gorgej-- grave diggers-, a Baloch tribe that spans the Balochistan areas of all three countries.  Fleeing poverty and hunger, my grandfathers — my parents were first cousins — and their two brothers left their homes in Bahu Kalat in what later became the Iranian part of Balo
