My ancestral homeland in southwest Asia, Balochistan –land of the Baloch--, also has the dubious distinction of being the land of the Islamic Bomb. It was there, in southwestern Pakistan, that a nuclear device was tested in May 1998. Most Americans may not have heard the name, Balochistan, a France-sized territory that the British colonialists left divided among Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Though extremely rich in resources and having a sexy strategic location as the northern lip of the Straits of Hormuz, the majority of its inhabitants belong to 200-plus Baloch tribes who eke out a living herding goats. Some are still nomads, wandering the region's huge expanses with their camels. Muslim men engage in gay play in the valleys of death

Nine Muslims countries to this day may punish a gay or bisexual person to death: Sudan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE. But this does not mean, gays wont play: among the Muslim countries, the United Arab Emirates is perhaps the gayest nation as per the gay dating site AdamForAdam . There are 1,149 gays looking for mating in that rich Gulf nation in spite of the death sentence. Though not called as such, there are quite a few gay bars in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman and other cities where men invite other men to their homes for obvious reasons. UAE is in fact one of the most pluralistic Arab nations where people from different background can live freely.  Perhaps, Saudi Arabia is one of the toughest places for gays.  Police in   Saudi Arabia   have arrested several men who appeared in a "gay wedding scene". Thank you America, for giving me my personal freedoms, even though there are many who want to snatch it back. I feel sometimes so lost driving in the United States as really I don't have many relatives here. You come to know the streets where you grew up because of memories you have of events that may have taken place on particular spots. Where you had a fight trying to act macho but realized you were no match for you nemesis, or maybe romance with a girlfriend even if it was a deceptive role playing as in the heart of your heart you loved the cute boy next door. Or, pardon my French, perhaps where you got your rear rubbed or got laid. A newcomer to the US does feel lost as he lacks these vital connections.
